TAO To Come Up For Air
Wed, Oct. 31 2007
According to off-the-record comments from members of their inner circle, The Adventures Of will spend the first months of 2008 submerged for long hours in utter isolation at Top Hat Recording in Austin TX, honing the sound of their upcoming album.
However, TAO today announced that, on the advice of their attorney, they will return to the stage for one more 2007 performance at Ruta Maya Coffee House in Austin TX. The band will perform an extended happy hour show from 6:00 to 8:30 pm on Friday, November 30, at Ruta Maya, 3601 S. Congress Ave., Austin.
TAO's new album is due for release in Fall 2008. Its title is a closely-held secret at this time.

TAO Celebrates 10-Year Milestone
Tue, Jul. 27 2004
Austin-based rockers The Adventures Of have announced plans to mark their first 10 years together with a series of Aluminum Anniversary events.
The band is expected to begin recording a new CD in early September 2005, and has unveiled an expanded website including an on-line merchandise mart. On October 22 and 23, they will perform live in Austin TX, their home base. A series of gala celebrations, live webcasts, parades, and charity sporting events are also in the planning stages.
The band played its first show in September 1994 under the moniker "The Little Green Band," and soon changed their name to The Adventures Of in order to confuse fans and frustrate club promoters. The original lineup included guitarists Peter Treece and Brook Meggs, bassist Mike Wimer, and drummer James Rannefeld.
In 1995, Rannefeld fled to greater Lubbock and was replaced by drummer Perry Banty and percussionist Conga Dave Hewett. In 2001, keyboardist Michael Ledbetter announced that he was joining the group.
All current and former members, along with some of the many guest musicians who have performed with the band, are expected to participate in the Aluminum Anniversary festivities.
